Chris Howell
Chris is a native of Gaston County and a graduate of Clover High School (Clover, SC). He spent his younger years living in Houston with his family before moving back to Gastonia and attending Hancock Elementary on North New Hope Road. In 1982 he and his family moved to Clover, SC.
June 1990 was a big year for Chris. He became engaged to his high school sweetheart, Dianna, then two months later left for a 5 year enlistment into the United States Marine Corps. He and Dianna were married in June of 1993. Shortly before ending his active duty tour with the USMC, Chris and Dianna had their first daughter Abigail. Two years later, their second daughter, Lauren, was born in Charlotte.
Chris spent 5 years working as a CNC Machine Tool Engineer before surrendering to a call in the ministry. In October of 2000, Chris began serving as the Pastor to Students at Flint-Groves Baptist Church (Gastonia), where he spent 17 years pouring into the lives of teenagers. In
December of 2017, Chris accepted a call to be the Senior Pastor of Kure Beach First Baptist Church (Kure Beach, NC) where he served until October of 2019. He and Dianna returned back home after their youngest daughter was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor.
In March of 2020, Chris began serving as the High School / College Pastor at First Baptist Church of Rock Hill (Rock Hill, SC).
Chris has 22 years of ministry experience, 15+ years of military experience, served 6 years on the Gaston County Board of Education, 2 years on the CaroMont Board of Directors, 11 years as a High School Football Chaplain and is a graduate of Liberty University with his degree in Religion, with an emphasis in Student Ministry.
Chris and Dianna have traveled internationally, nationally and locally leading mission trips. Chris has also been a national speaker for World Changers and Mission Serve.
